Drosera

Drosera is derived from a tiny plant that traps insects inside its leaves.

Treatment Use

Drosera is useful when any of the following are indicated:

Mental and emotional aspects

  • Feelings of restlessness and anxiety when  left alone
  • Fear of ghosts
  • Difficulty in concentrating
  • Sense of persecution
  • Prone to talkativeness
  • Suspicious of bad or unwelcome news.

Physical aspects

  • Colds, especially when accompanied by a violent cough
  • Coughs that will not stop and are spasmodic
  • Coughs accompanied by nausea or vomiting
  • Whooping cough
  • Joint pain and growing pains in the legs of teenagers if accompanied by symptoms of stiffness.

Modalities

  • Better: for being outside in the fresh air and stretching the body and limbs
  • Worse: late at night, or lying down for long periods of time; after drinking and eating cold food, after periods of talking

Treatment Tips

An excellent remedy for coughs and colds, in particular for a dry, retching cough.
