Argent. Nit.

Argent. nit. is derived from silver nitrate (a compound of silver). It is poisonous in large amounts. It has a caustic nature and it was used historically to cauterise wounds.

Treatment Use

Argent. nit. is useful when any of the following are indicated:

Mental and emotional aspects

  • Apprehension
  • Fearfulness
  • Nervousness
  • Overactive imagination
  • Stage-fright e Phobias, in particular claustrophobia and fear of spiders and insects
  • Feeling stressed and in a hurry.
  • Fear of giving talks or addressing groups
  • Fear of taking examinations.

Physical aspects

  • Diarrhea caused by anxiety and tension
  • Nightmares
  • Tight, sore muscles due to constant body tension
  • Headaches caused by concentrating hard Flatulence
  • Trembling and weakness in muscles and limbs
  • Palpitations and tightness in the chest
  • Aching, tired eyes
  • Irritable bowel syndrome.

Modalities

  • Better: for cool, fresh air and pressure .
  • Worse: when highly emotional; for concentration; for warmth

Treatment Tips

A remedy that helps to relieve apprehension and anxiety. Useful when there is fear of a forthcoming event, for example an examination or an interview. Helps control nerves both before and during the event.
