Nux Vomica

Nux vomica is derived from the poison strychnine, which is extracted from the seeds of the Strychnos nux vomica tree.

Treatment Use

Nux vomica is useful when any of the following are indicated:

Mental and emotional aspects

  • Tendency to over-indulge
  • Cravings for stimulants such as alcohol, tobacco and rich foods Addictive nature
  • Fear of failure
  • Argumentative
  • Critical
  • Fear of spiders and beetles
  • Dread of death
  • Depression
  • Insomnia
  • Hyperactivity
  • Frustration.

Physical aspects

  • Digestive problems, such as indigestion and heartburn
  • Food poisoning
  • Vomiting
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhoea
  • Stomach cramps
  • Lower back pain
  • Hiccups
  • Headaches and migraines

  • Colds and influenza

  • Heavy, aching muscles

  • Better: for sleep.
