Home Remedies For ArthritisTurmeric is a well-known cure for arthritis, so use plenty in your food. Drink warm milk with a teaspoon of ground turmeric mixed in three times a day. A back rub made from a dessertspoon of cayenne pepper in a cup of olive oil and applied to inflamed joints will bring a soothing heat to the aching area. Boil 600ml (I pint) of apple cider vinegar with a dessertspoon of cayenne pepper, cool and use as a compress on the affected area. Cayenne can cause skin irritation, so make sure it heats the area but does not cause burning. A good preventative measure is to mix a teaspoon of cider vinegar and honey in hot water and drink it first thing in the morning. Or try drinking the juice of one lemon in hot water sweetened with honey before breakfast. Nettle soup, which is made with fresh nettle tops, chopped onion and garlic, or plain nettle tea, are both tried and tested remedies for arthritis. Two teaspoons apple cider vinegar and 2 teaspoons of honey dissolved in a small glass of warm water taken once or twice a day brings relief. Potatoes have excellent anti- inflammatory properties and can relieve pain. To make a potato poultice, boil 450g (lib) of potatoes in their skins until tender. Place them in some muslin and mash. Apply the sack to the affected area. Remove it only once it has cooled down completely. Bake one or two egg- plants. Mash and fry in about 2 tablespoons of castor oil. Spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric, garlic and salt can be added while frying. Home Remedies for BursitisMake a poultice of cooked cabbage leaves, mashed and applied warm between layers of gauze or muslin. Linseed, marshmallow and slippery elm are other comforting herbs that can be taken as supplements. Boil up hot apple cider vinegar with cayenne pepper and apply as a compress, as for arthritis.
