Home Remedies For Cramp

Some naturopaths believe that cramps and poor circulation are also caused by low potassium or calcium levels.

Home remedies for Cramp

Celery contains compounds that reduce high blood pressure by relaxing the smooth muscle lining the blood vessels. The blood then flows more freely and pressure drops; this helps cramp symptoms.

Mix one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of warm water. Gulp it down quickly and the discomfort will disappear after only a few minutes.

Much potassium may be lost in many of the commercial brands of vinegar now available, so look out for the unprocessed variety in a health store.

How to Make a Calcium Supplement

  • Fill a jar halfway with crushed eggshells.
  • Cover with vinegar and allow to sit for two weeks.
  • Strain, then take one to three tablespoons daily.
  • You can use it as salad dressing or in sauces.
  • Sweetened with honey, it can be taken as a refreshing drink.

Drink teas that are rich in calcium such as dandelion, raspberry and plantain leaf. Eat plenty of almonds, sesame seeds, yogurt and most green vegetables.

'Restless legs' is cramp that causes pain and twitching in the legs. Add seed oils, avocados and wheatgerm to the diet to alleviate these symptoms. Reduce your meat, high-fat dairy produce and salt intake.
