Home Remedies For Fever

At the first signs of a fever, lemon juice and honey or apple cider vinegar and honey diluted in plenty of warm water will help. Cold drinks of lemon juice, lemon barley water or fresh unsweetened fruit juices are all good remedies and will help to bring a temperature down

Home remedies for Fever

You can calm a fever by applying cool water compresses to the legs and feet. Add some lavender or peppermint essential oils. Remove the compresses as soon as they warm up.

To combat infection you could use a cooled infusion of rosemary instead of cool water.

Angelica root boiled and infused in water will help to bring down a fever. Add the juice of two lemons, some honey and a drop of brandy to make it more palatable. Teas and tisanes that help to check a fever include hibiscus and basil.

For those with a cast-iron stomach, treat laryngitis with a syrup made up of grated horseradish root, lemon juice and honey which has been left to stand in hot milk or water, then strained.
