Home Remedies For Sore Gums

Halitosis (bad breath) is often caused by sore gums or abscesses in the mouth.

Home remedies for Sore Gums

Cabbage is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, so you could dab a little white cabbage juice onto mouth sores.

Sore gums may be the result of vitamin B and C deficiency, so strengthen your gums by drinking plenty of rose hip or blackcurrant tea and tisanes.

Soak a small pad of cotton wool in tincture of marigold and press it to the sore gum or bad tooth.

Make a mouthwash out of marigold or agrimony, boiled in water and left to cool.

A tincture of lavender leaves rubbed onto the gums acts as an excellent antiseptic, or you could gargle with a cooled infusion of lavender leaves mixed with honey.

You can make your own natural tooth powder by mixing two parts of bicarbonate of soda to one part salt. If you have none to hand, you could even try cleaning your teeth with raw lemon.
